The First Cut

More Titles

These were created to be used as the credits during the opening scene, they are original and I created them in a program called Adobe Photoshop. I first typed out the text with a copyright-free font already available on the program and then I used the paint brush tool and placed what looks like blood splatter over the text, giving it a more gritty appearance and helping to further reinforce the fact that this film has a gritty subject. I used a rather bold text to make it look more serious and I made it white so that it could stand out to the audience

Honey Bear logo

We needed a logo for our opening which was fairly original and suited the style of the film, so I decided to design this logo myself. I created it in Adobe Photoshop by writing the title of the film then I decided to use the paint brush tool but I changed it so it looked like splatters of blood, I then placed the splatters over the logo, I made the text colour white and made the blood splatters and background black for a very serious appearance.

Research into Film Titles

Me and Jared decided to look at other film titles to get more of an inspiration as to how to shape ours, and we found all of these from films which also had a roughly similar topic to our film opening's.

This Green Street logo has a very striking appearance to it, it is written in bold and if looked at closely appears to have white splatters over the orange writing. This would suit our film because our film is meant to be taken seriously and a logo like this would help to create a grittier appearance.

This logo for This Is England is similar to the one used for Green Street except each word is coloured in the three colours used for the Union Jack flag. It also has a more gritty appearance created by markings and a rusty looking scratches over the text. This would be useful for our production in a similar way to the Green Street logo.

This logo for Kidulthood is rather clean in comparison to the other two logo's, however is just as bold and attention-grabbing as the other two. It is in large letters which have been coloured white on a dark background in order to further stand out. This would be a useful idea for our logo as well.

Title design

We have found a font which bears strong resemblance to the one used from the film Green Street, however we have found difficulties trying to get it onto the opening sequence. To resolve this, we have decided that I find the fonts at home and then create the titles at home, then we will place it onto the opening once we are back at school after the half-term.

Re-Filming

We needed to re-film certain parts of the opening at Shaunagh's house because they needed to be drastically improved, and we added some new shots in as well. These new shots include my character cleaning a pair of bloodied scissors onto the bed before leaving, my character hiding these scissors before walking off into an allyway and then smoking a cigarette afterwards.
